When Your Software Becomes a Job Requirement

Dominus Estate, one of Napa's most prestigious wineries, is hiring a Vineyard Operations Manager. Among the required technical skills: "Proficiency with vineyard technology such as Sentinel, GPS, and AI-driven tools for data collection and analysis." Sentinel is the vineyard management platform I co-founded. We built it to help vineyard managers map and track individual vines with sub-centimeter accuracy.

When we started, we were solving a problem for a handful of vineyards. Now Dominus is requiring proficiency with our software as a job qualification, listed alongside GPS.

I don't have much to say beyond that. It's just one of those moments where you realize something you built has become part of an industry's standard toolkit.
